our history

1949

Tafco is born.
It is led by a Grandpa, a Dad and an Uncle, and it starts with a simple jalousie window clip.

1962

The first redesign Jalousie window is manufactured, and is a big local hit.

1980

Glass block windows are the rage, and Tafco creates the first vinyl, vented window. Customers love it.

1991

Upon the untimely death of his Father, Frank Tortorella Jr, along with Joe Rossi, take over the reigns of the company, marking a new chapter in Tafco’s history.

1992

Tafco teams up with Menards, Do It Best, True Value, extending its retail reach

1996

Tafco moves to Melrose Park, IL

1999

Tafco creates a working relationship with HM Windows in Dezhou, China

2005

Tafco creates a non-Primary window program which triples estimated sales projections in the first AND in the second year

2019

Tafco creates a second manufacturing facility to maintain a strong supply chain with all their customers, big and small

2021

Tafco Corp continues to create the widest range and innovative windows in the world. 

1959

Tafco is established at the Schiller Park location and begins manufacturing aluminum extrusions, bus stops and…windows.

1976

The US celebrates its Centennial, and Tafco celebrates their first Vinyl window. A Basement Slider.
The new Tafco Corp logo is also announced.

1988

The first Vinyl, Single Hung window is created at the Melrose Park facility.

1991

Tafco teams up with Home Depot, becoming a national brand

1993

Sensing the need for growth to supply new markets, Frank Tortorella searches the globe to source premium manufacturing, at an efficient cost

1997

Frank begins sourcing products from China

2010

Tafco and Lowe’s team up to further extend the Tafco product line

2009

Tafco begins creating injection molded products to again expand their product lines beyond windows

2020

Tafco, with their extensive resources, outperforms the competition during COVID, helping their customers maintain their business
